windshield wiper adapter

I just went and bought a wiper for the MH and a fellow customer said I could put an adapter to use regular wiper blades --He taught the number was ANCO 48-08 but NAPA & autozone can,t find the part any suggestions-Thanks Rich
Wiper blade cost me 43 bucks but I can take it back if I can find the adapter number

  • I ordered Anco 4817 380""/9.5Mm adapters for $8.60 shipped from Amazon waiting for them to come in. I can get 28" blades from Walmart for about 12.00. Camping world wanted $56.00 each and they weren't the right connector.

  • The last two times I replaced the wiper blades, I bought a good quality 26in. set, removed the blades from both the new and old frames and inserted the new blades in my old frames. Pretty simple job and probably took 30 mins. to do both. Saves looking for and buying an adapter.
  • I downsized to 26in blades and they work fine. They clear all the windshield I really use. I often have my shade down over the top of where the 32 in blades clear so I am losing very little usable area.

Initially I did this because I had no choice. Old blades were disintegrating and all that was available was the 26". It was raining and looked to rain for several days. I am quite happy with them and see no need to spend big bucks just to clear more glass.
  • I shop for oversize new blades at Big Lots and also find those large sizes 26-28" at Walmart on clearance once in a while. Always about $5. I pick them up and set aside for "whenever".
Edit: I drilled two holes in my wiper arms and secure the blades with little brass nuts and bolts.
  • "racer99".....Not sure what length you need, but Costco has been selling the Goodyear blades (longest available is 26") for a couple of years now. They have multiple possibilities for connecting. The best part, they're about $9.00 each. The only down side is the max length.
