Windshield Wipers

For long term stays, I just cover my wiper blades with pieces of foam pipe insulation cut to length. I haven't seen any need to take the pressure off of them, but our coach doesn't go into storage for months at a time either.

I pop the blades off and put them inside the RV while in storage. I set them so I see them to remind me to put them back on.

I put a piece of sliced pool noodle around each blade.

I put an old 35mm plastic film container under the arm at just the right spot where the wiper is just above the windshield. I don't buy film anymore, so think I will try empty plastic prescription bottles to do the same thing, The older I get the more uses I try to find for the accumulating bottles.(The prescription & warning labels pulls off easily.)

I use 2 tennis balls.

Use swimming pool noodle toys.

I also use the foam pipe insulation (looks like small diameter pool noodles) which already has a slice in it so it fits or piping. Home Depot, Lowes and just about any hardware store sells them for about a $1.00. They come in 6' lengths. They envelope the entire blade and keep it off of the window. When I park at home, it takes me about two minutes to slide them and the mirror covers on.

If you're looking for something nicer looking while staying at a long term spot in a park, I would probably go with the custom wiper covers.

X-2, I also use this method during the winter in the Southwest so the wipers won't stick or melt to the windshield on extremely warm days.
