Windshield Wipers Won't Stop

The windshield wipers on my 1990 Holiday Rambler work great when I need them. However, they won't stop when I turn them off. They continue to run in the slowest intermittent mode (every 30 seconds) as soon as I turn on the ignition key. I've checked the fuse and it's OK. I hear the solenoid but I can't find it under the dash.

The wiper control is on the steering column along with the turn signals and high/low beams. This condition just started 3 weeks ago.

GM-Chevy P30 chassis. VIN:1GBKP37W4K3326390(HRC)

  • My first thought would be to take it to a Chevy Truck dealer for diagnosis. Most of the dash switches have relays that make the item work. It could be a bad relay or it may be a worn out switch on the steering column. The Chevy Truck guys will be a logical place to turn for help.
  • I needed wiper parts. Linkages etc for my southwind on a P30 chassis.
Fleetwood was able to supply from the manufacturer.
    The manufacturer was DENSO
  • un-plug the motor and remove the end with the wire attach. You will find a disk that is causing the issue. Due to your rv age, might have to replace the motor. Not sure you will be able to find parts anymore.
