While that's certainly an option, it's not only an expensive option, you better be handy if you have problems with their antennas. They have very few dealers spread across the Country so you are going to have to be able to trouble-shoot by phone and then plan on replacing the parts your self. The RF Mogul unit is even more expensive than the Winegard and it can have issue just as well as Winegard can.
Agree with the handy part but how is that any different than Winegard's customers climbing on their RV roof to swap cables, LNB's or to remove a turret assembly to ship it back to Winegard for repair?
I had some intermittent issues with the GPS module in my Eagle. Issue quickly diagnosed over the phone with RF Mogul, quick shipped a new GPS module, and it took me all of 10 minutes to swap. They sent printed instructions by email. Less to go wrong with the roof mounted unit since all the electronics (except the little GPS) are in the box inside the coach.
As far as expense, I paid about $200 more than the best price I could likely get on another Traveler. Yes, that is more expensive than the Traveler but IMO you are getting a better quality unit with the RF Mogul.
