I am considering the purchase of either a 2004 or 2005 Winnebago Adventurer 35U on a Workhorse chassis but since there are none close to home available at an affordable price I am probably going to do business at a dealer in Texas. Everything on them meets all my requirements but my concern is whether any of the basement compartments will be big enough to allow me to store my folding gravity reclining patio chairs. Those roll up umbrella chairs will not work for neither my wife or I as we have both had back issues and they do not have support enough for us. The storage issues are our only concern keeping us from pulling the trigger on a purchase. The A/C compartment would be large enough if not for that. Which compartment and what are the dimensions would be great to hear from someone who currently has that unit.THANKS!

We have a '04 Winnebago Adventurer 35U and we put the gravity chairs in the back of the toad. I call them "fat boy" chairs but I don't think the narrower ones would fix either. We do stow two folding chairs in one storage bay.

Is there a website I can access to find the sizes on? I have already been to Winnebago's website and it only gives the total capacity of all of the compartments. The floorplans don't show any of the dimensions. My concentration is on the openings of them as the boxes themselves are larger than the openings.

I've got two of those chairs. The front, right compartment is a two level compartment. The higher level is shallow but deep enough for one chair the long way. The next compartment on the right side (just aft of the entry door) is much wider than deep. It is also tall. I got an extendable shower bar with two mounting cups. One cup is cut-out half way around. One side of the second chair is put on the tall ledge that extends out from the water tank about 8". Then the bar is installed and holds up the other side of the chair, which leaves plenty of room to store stuff under it.Works well for us. The MH is in storage or I would take some pictures. If you still have questions come next spring, let me know and I will get pictures for you.

Thank you 427425! Unfortunately for me I have a coach to decide on very soon or I would wait for a later time. I don't understand why Winnebago designs their compartments with such limited sizes. Other manufacturers seem to have more space under the slideouts or under the floors. Guess I know now why the basement A/C is not very popular. In the Brave the rear compartment has more than ample space.Thanks again,

My wife and I have been very pleased with our 35U. Lots of space inside when the slides are out and plenty of storage for our needs. Besides the lounge chairs, I've got a large tool box with 60+ lbs of tools, a Coleman road trip grill, an air compressor, a 2 step ladder, a storage container with spare filters, plugs, belts etc, a 6 ton jack and HD jack stands, a spade, spare oil and antifreeze, some blocking, a couple of cases of beverages, etc. etc. The large clothes closet and dresser inside also provide lots of storage opportunities.I've had no desire to go larger, and we've been on the road with it for up to 8 weeks at a time.

X-2, another option would be inside the shower! Don't understand comment about basement air not being popular in the Winnebago 35-U. The 35-U is Winnebagos biggest selling coach model ever!

I just looked at a friend's 2002 Brave and his storage compartment behind the passenger entry door is more than accommodating for my chairs. Does the Adventurer have the same dimensions or is it blocked by something to keep it from being as deep as the Brave which goes almost over to the opposite frame rail? Since it is in the center of the wheelbase under the kitchen I can't believe there would be that much difference but don't have any samples to view anywhere close by.

The dimensions are 26"W x 36"L x 5"H when folded including the arm width. They came from Walmart a few years ago but I'm sure most of these chairs are the same except the extra wide versions. They fit in my '96 Pace Arrow basement snugly but easily removed and inserted. If there are narrower ones I might consider replacing mine. How wide are the ones pictured above? Putting them in my toad won't work for me.

We have a 2002 Itasca Suncruiser 35U (the twin of the Adventurer 35U) on a Workhorse W-22 chassis. The compartment to the left of the coach door is 22"x22"x53". This is the dimension of the large area where we store our chairs...including a LaFuma gravity chair and 2 folding chairs, all resting sideways- not flat. There is more room in the upper part (not included in these dimensions) of the same compartment near the water tank but we never put anything up there and it's not very high.

It's been a great coach. The floorplan is excellent. Just thinking of upgrading now.

The chairs we have are similar to the picture below. They fit with space to spare.

Do you have the fold up tube frame gravity reclining chairs? If so, which compartment has sufficient room to put them in? That is my big concern as to buy the Winnebago. Storage for them is a deal make or break for us.
