I know just how you feel. This is what I do to lessen the freezing effect. Say that you normally set the thermostat at 78 and let the unit cycle off and on. I will set the thermostat at 80 and let the unit run all the time. This way when the air conditioners come on, the air does freeze me and still the RV feels comfortable.
You can turn off the #2 compressor at your electric panel. Mine is at the foot of the bed. I do this to operate on 30 amps.
I don't understand the noisy issue. Is this in the bed room while sleeping?
Both good suggestions...I love the fan running as it drowns out a noisy campground and if you have the AC on at night you won't hardly notice when the AC compressor kicks in with the fan running all the time
