rusty tabs that hold the windshield in were a big problem. Usually, the crack from the edge didn't go far and if caught fast enough, could be stopped by drilling a hole and sealing. Proper replacement windshield with cleaning and sealing the tabs worked. Had more problems from road stones than anything. Rather deal with cracks than the whole windshield popping out.
