That's exactly what that tape is for. Tiffin uses it over the joints between the roof and the front/rear caps. Once again, it's used to provide additional protection to the joint. Any properly prepared joint that is covered by Eternabond will never need any more attention for the life of your coach.
I have always heard Eternabond was a one and done deal. Whenever I buy my forever coach or at least one I plan on keeping long term I plan on doing all the roof seams with it. Each year I have to get up on the roof and inspect and reseal. That gets old.
