Ram shows a diesel available in their Promaster, with an automated manual transmission that should give great mileage. Some concerns I would have with this chassis are low CCC, poor traction on slippery surfaces due to FWD, and virtually no towing capacity. If one travels light, stays on dry ground and doesn't need to tow, these could be a very nice driving coach with good fuel mileage.
