How important is this issue to some of you?
FWIW, my 2 prior B's had Onan 2800's in underfloor mounts. They were quite noisy, despite considerable effort on my part to quiet them. My current Tiger has the 2800 in a rear-facing compartment, and quieting was fairly easy to DIY, getting it down 56-57 dbA full load at 23' (7m). And servicing is much easier when you're not lying on your side reaching up, with road dirt falling on your face.
It seems that the new 'QG 2800' ain't all that much quieter that the old 2800, either. Underfloor mount Onans are inherently hard (impossible?) to quiet.
