I dunno. I owned a Porsche 968 for almost 10 years. It had a gas 3-liter 4 cylinder derived from the 944's 2.5 liter. 16 valve with variable cam timing, Getrag 6 speed, really broad torque band, rev-happy as all get-out, and very smooth. It had two 'balance shafts' to cancel vibrations. It got mid-to-high 20's mpg on the open road, tho' on high test. 0-60 in 6.1 sec (good for '92), topped out at 156.Some people think that if they'd turbo'd that engine, it would have dented 911 sales for a few years.
