Winnebago Trend?

From the Class B forum topic:

In Europe, motorhomes on this chassis are very common (read 70% are on the Fiat Ducato chassis). However, here in the US, the vans and chassis are just starting to come out, and so far, Winnebago is the first to offer a model on this chassis.

The Winnebago Trend will be interesting competition in the short C market. It is fairly short (24' 1" overall), seems to be narrower than the usual Cs (similar to a Phoenix Cruiser), and should get in the teens when it comes to gas mileage numbers. It is a gasser, which is good and bad -- it means more generator run time.

It definitely wouldn't be a daily driver, but it could squeeze into places that are generally only class B territory.

Anyone else find anything on this model? I'm curious about tank sizes and floorplans (there will be two layouts available.)

  • @gerrym51

You are correct. I was alluding to the mlts22 comment about toy haulers and never seeing one in a US motorhome and the other reference to the Treks. Sorry to go off topic.
  • A poster stated they had never seen a drop down bed in a US motorhome without specifying class A or C. I, and assume Rangerider, were simply pointing out MHs available in US with a drop down bed.

    these are a's. this is a 24 ft. C

  • Thor has an availabe cabover drop down in the ACE and Hurricane and Forest River has one in the FR3. I'm sure there are others.
  • I recall seeing some older class A's on online classifieds sites that had a drop down bed in the cab area. Also, a relatively newer short class A that had one about center of the coach. It was the primary and only bed in the MH.

The class A was the Safara Trek with a "Magic Bed"
  • If I were to guess how it would work, I'd say similar to this.

Drop-down beds are not new, but generally tend to only be in toy hauler garages. However, in a US motorhome, I've never seen this in any shape or form. Murphy beds, yes. Not drop-down beds.
  • I'm interested in seeing the bed that lowers electrically from the ceiling. that is a game changer to me.
