I'm looking at one or the other also, but I have a different view of the drop down bed. I haven't seen one yet, but I have always liked the idea since I first saw one in an older Trek.
In a coach as small as the Trend, or my own Jamboree, I find a dedicated bed takes up too much room and the bed is usually compromised some way like having a corner chopped off. The Trend and my own coach, have no slide, so what you see is what you get. I'm used to folding out the sofa or collapsing the dinette, so a "real" bed descending from the ceiling is a step up, literally and figuratively. Now my concern would be, can I see the TV from the bed.
