I'm looking at one or the other also, but I have a different view of the drop down bed. I haven't seen one yet, but I have always liked the idea since I first saw one in an older Trek.
In a coach as small as the Trend, or my own Jamboree, I find a dedicated bed takes up too much room and the bed is usually compromised some way like having a corner chopped off. The Trend and my own coach, have no slide, so what you see is what you get. I'm used to folding out the sofa or collapsing the dinette, so a "real" bed descending from the ceiling is a step up, literally and figuratively. Now my concern would be, can I see the TV from the bed.

On both the 23L and 23B, there is a second television in a compartment on the starboard side that can be viewed easily from the drop-down bed. This is an option, but it definitely would solve the TV from the bed item.
The 23B doesn't have a permanent bed, but has a drop-down 58x78 (a queen is 60" x 80") bed that is close enough.
I prefer a permanent bed, and don't mind sacrificing some kitchen space, provided the bathroom is still usable, so I prefer the 23L floorplan. Plus, if I bring a relative or friends, I have two spare sleeping surfaces for them without having to give up my bed.
