Hoping something is fact to justify a purchase is a fool's folly. Do your due diligence and know what you are facing regarding service and parts. Most RV service centers are ill prepared to do mechanical work on common chassis let alone the VW orphan. You are going to do what you are going to do, but I have to ask why did you even post your question here if you have already convinced yourself?
When you post on here your woes with that VW chassis you will not here, "I told you so" from me.
