Winnebago Vista

To anyone who has ordered a Winnebago Vista or LX Vista, what % off of MSRP were you able to negotiate? If you were happy with the dealer, please share the name.

FYI, I asked for a quote from RV One using their automated system and they came 25% off for a 2016. The general impression I get from this board is shoot for 35%.

Thanks.

  • the higher the phony retail price is the more you will get a larger discount. or they will cut back on what they will give you for a trade in. I think those that claim 35% were on a unit that the dealer wanted to get rid of or needed to lower inventory at that time. my salesman pointed out that they don't calculate a discount off Retail, they add on what they need above cost.

Winnebago usually doesn't want to discount as deeply as some brands. I would say 25% is probably a good discount from MSRP on a Winnie. You won't see 35% from them, that's for sure.
  • Rather than MSRP, maybe I should have said off of the originally quoted price!!
  • I didn't think they had a MSRP as is required on regular cars.

Was the MSRP exactly the same at different dealers when you were doing your research?
  • I do not think you are going to get any more than about 25-28% on a Winnebago. Good luck getting just about any coach 35% "off". That begs the question: Off what? Since it is next to impossible to get the actual dealer invoice cost on an RV we are stuck with MSRP. Note that price can differ from one dealer to another. In this day and age it is almost archaic not to know the true invoice cost. There are any number of Internet pricing services where that is easily obtained for a car, SUV or truck.
