Major progress today. I had been trusting the labeling by Winnebago on the inside of the control center door for 12V. They had labeled the furnace fuse as a light fuse! I looked at a schematic and saw that, of course, the red wire running from the furnace back to the control center was connected to a light labeled fused. Weirdly, I could touch the + & - wires from the coach power and get a spark. Of course that blew the fuse to the real furnace fuse so when I checked the labeled fuse it was fine. So after toasting 3 fuses I finally replaced the fuse that is the true furnace one and then connected the furnace to the coach power and it ran! But only if I jumped the thermostat which was falling apart as I worked on it. I may have mentioned that this RV was stored in Houston for a few years and never dealt with and so much of the plastic became brittle, as did the thermostat.
So I'm hoping that if I replace the thermostat and get all the fuses replaced then I'll be good to go!
I will report back.
Many thanks
