If you have a Suburban Water Heater. It will need a 1 1/16 socket to removed anode rod/drain plug.

Most likely 7/8" or 15/16". Camco makes a nice little bent wrench for water heater drain plugs that I found quite helpful. You can order it from Amazon.

Lifting up on the T-handle will open the valve will allow water flow.

I have these valves in my MH but they don't seem to do anything! Can't get them to drain. What am I doing wrong?

My 07 Yellowstone Cruiser (BT) 5290 has a T drain valve under the bed and next to the water tank. Plus there are 2 valves under the drawers across the coach opposite the foot end of the bed. Suggest you also open the water heater valve and compressed-air blow the system out @ about 40 PSI. Close the valves and pour a couple gallons of antifreeze into the tank and run the pump until you see pink at all the outlets. Then drain the grey tank and add some pink a-frz to the grey and black tanks + the toilet bowl & shower drain and p-traps. Works for me!

We purchased a 2003 BT 5270 new and pre-winterized. When we took it to Camping World to get it dewinterized on our way to FL, they could find the drain valves, and, believe it or not, a call to Gulfstream indicated that they didn't have a clue either..CW finally found the three valves in front of the fresh water tank, and the system finally drained. We subsequently had a bypass installed, but it was a PITA to access it as we had to remove the mattress and part of the plywood underlayment to get to it through an access panel we had to cut.

We loved the BT for a number of reasons - but the drain valves were not one reason.

Sold the '03 last spring.

X2 on the uselessness of all generic manuals - our 2010 Four Winds Freedom Elite 31r has a manual that applies to all TT's, Class A's as well as C's.

Haven't these manufacturers ever taken to the road with one of their units?

GS has no plans to make a better manual. They are no longer in the motorized business.
I have never taken my Motorhome back to a GS dealer. Asked questions here or on other forums to get answers to my problems. You can download manuals for all appliances from the internet. There should be a label inside a cabinet that list all the model #'s.
There are no electrical drawings. But if you look at the wires you will see a printed label every foot on most wires telling you what they are for.
