- Skid_Row_JoeExplorerAny more updates on the events leading up to the death?
- Skid_Row_JoeExplorerIt said the woman killed was walking by the RV when it was moving. Said nothing about directing anything. Very careless people involved to have such a tragic event occur. :(
- FIRE_UPExplorerWell,
Since NONE of us were there, none of us were IN THE MOTOR HOME, and there is no DIRECT WORD from the coach driver, we can only try and ASSUME what happened. And we ALL KNOW WHAT ASSUME means. Until the FACTS are out, until he recovers from whatever damage was done to him and is ACCURATELY reported, we simply guess at the cause.
Who knows, like what has been stated, a heart attack, a stroke, a blackout of some sort, what? And, at this point in time, we're being lead to possibly believe that, the woman that was killed, COULD have been with the RV driver and, COULD have been directing him to enter the fueling station. Obviously we'll not know anything from her.
If, IF, she was with him, and she was DIRECTING the RV to the fuel pump, that would have meant that, that RV had to have STOPPED COMPLETELY at one point TO LET HER OUT. IF, that was the case, where did she get out in relation to what kind of speed was gained/attained to do that much damage?
Most of us know that there's not much strength built into the body framing of these rolling Kleenex boxes. So, when force is applied to that part of the structure, it collapse very easily. But still, that's a fair amount of damage if, he had just let her out (again IF, SHE WAS WITH THE RV DRIVER IN THE FIRST PLACE, IT'S NOT PROVEN YET) and that would/should mean that, they were at least, in the parking lot of the fuel station, if not close to the pumps.
But, again, we're all trying to surmise what happened. Who gives a rats a$$ about the reporting? The report MIGHT not be to everyone's liking but, the basics are there:
1. Accident with an RV at a fuel station
2. Woman killed
3. People injured/children involved
4. Driver not killed and transported to hospital.
5. Some witness's
6. Cause of accident: Unknown, still investigating
Scott - GMandJMExplorerA woman lost her life and the reporter described the incident as "nearly" a tragedy. He is not a good writer.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIII find absolute no problem with the writing of the story. I think I'm a good writer - got A's in English, anyway. :)
If the woman killed was directing him where to park I wonder if it was his wife.
Now...what did I write that was wrong? - dodge_guyExplorer IISomething tells me the woman that was hit was a passenger of the RV. Maybe the drivers wife?! Who knows. What's important is to recognize that someone died tragically on a holiday.
Let's drop the ripping of the reporter and focus on the important facts! - Blaster_ManExplorer

Davenport Flying J accident
There must be more to this story. Did the MH driver pass out or was he just a bad driver? Maybe too old to be driving? How fast was he going to do that much damage?
Then again, maybe he was too young to be driving a big MH...no experience, no training, not used to driving long distances, distracted by young kids, speeding, etc. - Triker33ExplorerPolice say an RV driver hit a pedestrian, a gas pump, and two vehicles. The pedestrian died on scene.
Eye witnesses stated women (pedestrian) was directing RV to park when RV ran over her.
Just saying. You don't see many pedestrian's hanging around the RV fuel lane to help direct a RV to a parking spot. :R
I have fueled up at many Flying J RV Islands and have yet seen any pedestrians there that wasn't with a RV.
Waiting for the rest of the story to come out. :S - 3oaksExplorer

I also noticed that the reporter needs to return to school. Bad article.
Probably a minimum wage feeder to the big leagues. I doubt the real journalists aspire to be here.
It never ceases to amaze me how many armchair editors there are on the internet. :R - SCVJeffExplorer
