More like the typical ramblings of Ford vrs GM. Every part you just mentioned is readily available but "your friend" just doesn't know where to go. There are places that still repair the Actia dashes. Geeze, some even advertise on eBay. The ABS sensors are available online overnight. The new crate engine water pump will work, but it will not last as long because the standard WH water pump, which is still available, has a larger main bearing. The larger bearing water pump can be bought from RockAuto. The facts are that those like you that have always loved Fords, will always feel that GM's are bad, and vice versa. The real facts are that your electrical tape "friend" doesn't have the intelligence to find his own parts, or find a mechanic that knows how easy it is to find WH parts.
My friend is not into looking for parts that is why he took it to a Workhorse dealer. He pays people to repair his vehicles, he also pays them to wash and wax his vehicles. As far as the water pump provided, it would never have worked as the inlet and outlet were in the wrong positions. Yes, there are places that repair Actia dashes on EBay, but even they are having problems getting some parts, fact not fiction, as it appears you like to use. Me, a Ford lover, now that's real funny. The MH that I own is the first Ford I have owned since 1970. I did have a couple of Ford service trucks in the business I owned, but they were there when I bought the business, and since they served their purpose I kept them. As far as this being a Ford VS GM thing, its not. Workhorse had no problem with GM when they first started out, their problems started when they designed and built their own. The fact still remains that the W20 and 22 chassis' were never Chevrolet truck chassis' which has been claimed. I don't know why people want to claim that they are. I guess it makes one feel better to think that what they own is a GM instead of an orphaned Workhorse. Personally I like the GM 8.1 and the Allison transmissions that came with Workhorse chassis' but the fact remains that it is still an
orphan , which is a fact that cannot be denied, unless one is lacking in said
intelligence.
