Workhorse parts getting hard to find????

I was talking to my mechanic the other day and he told me he was having difficulty finding Workhorse parts and I might consider selling it. They are not a dedicated RV repair facility....they also work on buses, ambulances etc along with RV's. I have a 2004 RV on a P32 chassis and have gottten to the point stuff is starting to fail. I know someone bought Workhorse so I can see how this would be the case. Is anyone having problems getting parts for older Workhorse chassis?
  • Check "Omeys" website a lot of info on parts, cross reference and DIY info for work Horse. X2 on Rock Auto just got all new rubber brake lines for my 2003 workhose $102 for all 4. Just an FYI my right rear caliper kept sticking and overheating brake. (recall was done) 40 years with Cummins CT I do all my own work. Long story short I found the hose to caliper was plugged. There is a metal braket for the hose which wraps around the hose instead of a clamp. the bracket had rusted around the hose when I cut it open it was squeezed almost competely closed. On the outside there was no sign of a problem rubber was flexible. Replaced all 4 hoses.
  • No opinion on the Workhorse chassis, but I am amazed by some mechanic's and parts people who can't go outside of their regular vendor for parts, I have goggled some parts in front of their nose and found the part.
  • Did WH actually have a parts manufacturing facility, per say?
I mean the engine is GM, the trannies are either GM or Allison, the brakes are from different manufactures. The fuel filter can be converted to a GM for future savings....etc.
  • No problem on my end finding anything for ours. There are plenty of resources out there.
  • Depends on what you need.
Many after market parts are available.
Why go and buy from an expensive dealer versus generic locations?
  • No problems at all finding parts for my W chassis. Rock auto has some parts for a P32 as does Oemys-Performance.com, ultrarvproducts.com, and workhorseparts.com. I would guess that one of these places would be able to help you.
