Just doing some research, on Wikipedia and it says:
- After 2003, the Express and Savana had updated front-end sheetmetal similar to the GMT800 light trucks and SUVs, and at the same time, fitted with the LS engines. (along with some other improvements, I think the 2003 and newer Express/Savanna vans are more desirable than the 1996-2002 models. And it seems that most Class B Chevy based vans come equipped with the appearance package that has the composite headlights instead the the regular square sealed beam headlights most cargo vans have).
- In 2004 Stability Control (Stabilitrak) was added to all passenger vans (but that may not be on Class B motorhomes since they are usually based on a cargo van, unless it was available as an option on cargo vans).
- In 2008 the interior was updated and side impact roof airbags were standard on all passenger models (again, since most Class B's are based on cargo vans, they probably didn't get the extra air bags, but should have the updated interior)
- Transmission 6-speed automatic (2010–present), 6 speed auto on 2500 and 3500. So... I'm guessing that means that up to 2009 they had a 4 speed automatic, and in 2010 they got the 6 speed automatic, but all second generation (2003 - present) 2500 and 2500 had the 6 speed automatic? That would be good since most Class B's are based on the 2500 and 2500, and not the 1500.
And... it seems that Roadtrek (according to their brochures from past years available on their website) offers only the 6.0 V8 on all 2003 and newer Chevy based vans. Stability control is not available. It does not state what kind of transmission it has, but it does say there's a transmission cooler. If I understood the info on Wikipedia, the 2500 and 3500 vans had the 6 speed automatic from 2003 onwards. I didn't check every year, but I checked 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2008 Roadtrek brochures. Up to 2002, it looks like the Chevy Express based Roadtrek 190 had the 5.7L/350 V8 and the Roadtrek 200 had an optional 8.1L V8.

Not sure about other Class B Chevy based motorhomes, but I'm guessing they came equipped the same way as Roadtreks. I'd aim for a 2003 or newer, and as new as possible since the newer they are, the more refined and better built I would think
