If it was me, I'd stick with the Chevy with the LS engine. A 6.0 is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned, with very little gas savings by getting the 4.8.
The 4 spd was all you could get until the 2010 model year, when the 6 spd came online. And contrary to what some folks think or have been told, the 6 spd is NOT the Allison 1000 6 spd, it's a heavy duty 6spd Hydramatic, which is not a bad thing at all. (The Allison only goes in the HD pickups, from 2001-on)
We had a Pleasureway Lexor, 2007 model year, that was great, but turned out to be a bit too small for us.
2008 was the year that the newer dash and upgraded, hp & torque, 6.0 came online.
And being a newbie, did you realize that the RV year and the chassis model year can be different, i.e. 2008 Roadtrek, Pleasureway etc on a 2007 Chevy chassis. Common practice in the RV industry
