I'm not sure if it's a really big deal having the two rear barn doors on the Chevy vs the large single door on the Dodge. In my Chevy Astro with two rear barn doors, I find that about 90% of the time I only open one door (the right side door, since that's the one with the outside handle and must be opened first, same as with the Chevy Express I believe). Having said that, maybe I would want to open both doors on a van that's a Class B motorhome more often than just one door. I read on the Roadtrek website or in one of their brochures that General Motors doesn't want them mounting a spare tire to the door due to the extra weight of the spare tire. Maybe the hinges wouldn't be able to handle it?
And off-topic, I think someone tried to send me an email (not a private message within the forum, but a message sent to my email address). For some reason, I got an email today from rv.net to confirm my email address and on that screen it said that my email address could not be confirmed. This is strange, since I've had no trouble logging and and posting messages in the forum since I registered a little over a week ago... So if someone emailed me, I'm afraid I did not get your message.
