I did. I considered a truck camper, a B, and a small C.
Truck camper - I would have had to buy the truck also which was $40K more than I wanted to spend. But it was what I remember with fondness from my childhood - with the overcab bunk and the ability (at least as a skinny child) to climb between the truck cab and the camper.
B - With two dogs at 85lbs, I just felt I would end up having to climb around them all the time and that would get annoying. I also really missed the overcab bunk.
C - No need to replace my daily driver with a truck, has the overcab bunk, enough room that I wouldn't have to climb around the dogs, and yet still small enough to fit most anywhere.
No leveling jacks, no residential fridge. Didn't think I had to have it then, but really do like the convenience of the toilet with black tank (can go about 16 days before having to dump the waste tanks or fill the fresh water tank. The dinette ended up very much appreciated, as soon after buying it, the parrot started camping with me - and his travel cage fits perfectly on the back half of the dinette table. As I sleep in the cabover, the convertible sofa has come in handy for the occasional overnight visitor.
