Xantrex RC/GS

Question

I have a 2008 Tiffin Phaeton. I have a question to those that have the same Xantrex inverter RC/GC control panel. The problem I'm having, when I try to turn off the inverter from the panel, it doesn't do anything. It will not power down. I have to go outside and turn the inverter of on the unit itself.
Is this normal or is either my panel or inverter faulty? Any thoughts?

The control panel is connected to the inverter with a 4 pin phone chord. try re-setting it at both ends.

Unplug the phone cord, wait a few seconds and plug them back in....Dennis

DISCONNECT the 12 volt battery cable to the inverter for 10 minutes. Do not have 120 shore or Genset power ON. Reconnect Battery cable and the Inverter will respond now. THAT resets a Xantrex Inverter/Charger. Doug

Thanks for the responses: I tried unplugging the phone cord at both ends with no luck.  I'll keep trying other ideas as well.

The next step is checking the continuity of all 4 pins of the phone chord.  If that does not show an open, try a different control panel. they are available at several salvage yards. If that has no effect. It is in the mother board of the inverter.
