XM Radio Antenna Placement
Just purchased a portable XM radio for my Class C. For those who have one, where have you placed the small magnetic antenna? Does anyone have theirs on the dash, and if so, does it work well there? ...

On my Lazy Daze I put the antenna in the vent/hatch that sits above the cabover bed. The advantage is there are no holes drilled in the rv. The antenna sits on top of the screen but inside or under the hatch cover. The hatch cover is plastic and does not interfere with the signal. It is held in place with a steel washer that sandwiches the screen between the washer and the magnet that is the bottom of the antenna.
I ran the line to the privacy curtain (about 18") and then inside the run for the curtain to the driver's side wall. Then down along side the curtain and then inside the bed and frame to the drivers door. Still inside the car I just put the wire inside the rubber door trim until I got next to the dash. Then a run over to the dashboard. I have a few feet left over that I coiled under the bunk and under the dash.
I will have to take pictures one day. I use only a screwdriver to back out the trim/runner for the privacy curtain. I can remove everything with no damage to the rv.
