When we would have a vehicle with a "tick", I have added a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to the crankcase, not the fuel tank or you could do both if the first doesn't work. Marvel Mystery Oil does a very good job loosening up sticking valve lifters. I usually have a quart in my stash of goodies in the motorhome for it or the toad. Then I don't need it and end up giving it to a friend or family, when they have a problem.
