Yikes! $3850 for a 5 day rental

I think this helps put RVing into perspective. Airstream2Go.com seems like a great idea but is very expensive. When factoring in the cost to travel to/from their rental locations, fuel, insurance, food, park passes, etc this makes a Disney vacation look like a bargain.

  • I would not at all be surprised if he is very successful. He knows the biz, and has been in it for a long time.

He plans their trips for them, with things to do etc. I can see how this would appeal to well healed, big city, family folks, from Europe and the US

You and I may think the cost is crazy, but for folks with plenty of money they make think it a bargin
  • Well, you would be renting the Denali too.

It is about renting the image. Same thing exists in the car rental business, you can pay about ten times as much to rent a Lexus LS or M-B S-class as you would pay to rent a Chevy Sonic, or you can up the ante a lot more and go for a Lamborghini.

But for almost $1000 a day, I would expect the rig to come with a driver and cook. But that seems to double the price.

I suspect that this is not the first time an Airstream has been available for rental, when you consider all the commercial uses of older ones over the years. I know Airstream motorhomes can be rented, or leased.
  • Only time will tell but I think the guy that came up with this can kiss his 401k goodbye.
  • I was certain that someone was going to say that that Denali won't be safe and they need a dually.

Times-A-Changin'! May 2009 we rented a 29-ft Class C for a week from ABC in Anchorage AK. A "fisherman's special", this Gulfstream Yellowstone was in its last year of service before being sold out of their fleet. Still newer than our Jayco. We paid $505.00 for a week, linens, tableware, appliances furnished. Unlimited generator use, didn't even have to dump tanks. Just top off the Gas and the LPG.
  • But if you're gonna spring for a cruise, better avoid Carnival unless you can swim. :)
  • LOL they can keep it. hahaha $4 g's for 5 days, not including fuel, food, etc.

You could go on a REALLY nice 14 day cruise with your other half with all meals, entertainment, bedding, etc., paid for for $3,000 (or less even).

If you shopped around you could get a 21 day cruise for $4 g's.

Sorry I just think $4 grand for 5 days is pretty much nuts for anything.

Love RV'ing, but then there's reality.

The $4Gs does include the TV - a Yukon Denali.
  • If I am going to use it for 5 days, why on earth do I care if it will last 50 years? If I want nostalgia I will go to the park in Bisbee (IIRC) that rents evenings in vintage trailers.
