We started out with Alltel (Altell???); then discovered their coverage was spotty and erratic. We switched to Verizon on the advice of friends who travelled a lot and they do have great coverage. Yes, they're pricey, but we want to be able to make/receive calls as much as we can and so far so good. Even on the train headed out West:) If saving money is your priority, don't go with Verizon, but if it's coverage and reliability, then I'd recommend Verizon. And their customer service is pretty decent, but this is a huge tech-heavy company...I'd rather go to our local Verizon store!
