- BajaLindaExplorerEverything looks so good. I need a waffle iron!
- lizbardExplorerOnly way I would do it in waffle iron is if I can clean the grates in the dishwasher to get rid of onion, garlic, etc. taste.
- RaenMarkExplorerNeat ideas, some of them i wonder about with the waffle side. Our waffle iron has reversible grates, one side's smooth griddle.
- notevenExplorer IIIBaloney. Nice grid pattern for the gore may look.
- hokeypokeyExplorerI line a rimmed baking sheet with crumpled up aluminum foil and lay bacon on it to go in the oven. Very little clean up !
- KLOExplorerI have a George Foreman #5 with the removable grates and I use it all the time to cook bacon. It holds the bacon down so it doesn't shrink as much. I use it all the time, one of my most used appliances. I haven't made waffles for quite a while, time for some!
- JRS___BExplorerIt seems like the advantage of the waffle iron is that the vertical edges make for more surface area, and thus quicker browning. I would be willing to try the hash browns, french toast, and maybe the bacon.
- Pangaea_RonExplorerInteresting, but most of the recipes seem to be trying too hard to make it work on a waffle iron. I have usually found waffle irons too hard to clean-up?
I prefer to use a George Foreman grill, its great for bacon, pannini, etc... same concept as a waffle iron and much easier to clean. - 96Bounder30EExplorer IIWe cook french toast in ours all the time......we call it french waffles.......
