Anyone have a Weber Q 1000?

I want to get a new grill.(I am sold on a Weber Q.) I don't know what size to get. They have a 1000 and 2000 series. (Used to be 120 and 220)

So I go looking at all the stores around here (Michigan) that are supposed to have them but being winter here not one of them has any in stock so I can look at them. NO ONE!

What size is the surface of the grill area? L X W in inches? I think I can get by with the smaller one but not if it's tiny. It states 192 sq inches so I assume its 12" X 16"???

I want to get the big tank converter, a griddle plate and cover for it. I will just get a small folding table to put it on.

Was hoping to get one from Amazon but need to make sure I get the right size.

Thanks for any information you have.

I have the Q120 , got it at Wally World , it has a temp gauge, and comes with a stand. The grill area is large enough to cook food for 4 or more people. Check the Weber web site, you can find all the spec's on each size.

The grill surface dimensions are not listed, I did look. Walmart and home Depot had nothing. I will check Meijer. I was wrong the cooking surface is 189 sq inches, not 192.
  • We have had a baby Q for about 10 years. They change the name to Q100. It is big enough to cook for more then 2 people. 12 x 16 is big enough to cook 8 or 10 burgers.
  • I think Meijer carries them. Did you check there already?

We ended up going with the q200 for the added space and trays on the side. If you need all the dimensions and measurements they have them in this portable gas grill article along with some other grill options like this odd looking grill. If only we were more adventurous we might give it a try!

Hard to beat the weber Q though!

  • I know the people who posted like the smaller one but if I were you I would look at both before making a decision. I used to work at a local sears store and they had them in there, I like the small one esp since there is only the two of us but then what happens if you have another couple over, two eat while the other two wait for their burgers or steaks get cooked? yes, I know the little stores better but performance is still in the back of my mind.
  • Have the same unit as Jay Pat and ScottG and it serves the two of us fine. We considered the Q200 but it was a bit large and we wanted something that could be stored in minimal space so the Q100 was the one.
  • Q100.
The grill is not square. It is approx. 12' deep x 15" long (180 sq inches).
    Plenty big for two people.
I purchased the smallest one for easier storage.
Also, I got rid of the small propane bottles and hook up directly, to the propane outlet on the trailer.
