Best Homemade Coffee

Go to your local grocery and get the whole beans, a dark roast. Either grind there or get a grinder.

Buy a French press and a hand coffee grinder. You can get a great grinder for under $50 (mine is a Hario from Japan for $34)

Not only is this the simplest system, it uses no electricity and makes by far the best coffee.

Much of the coffee sold as beans in the grocery is just as good, if not better on some cases than the expensive stuff from Starbucks.

Trust me if you do this it will open your eyes to what coffee can and should be. It's like tasting your first glass of a '53 Margaux, you suddenly realize everything you have been putting in your mouth to that point is, well, not very good.

Great advice.

Starbucks aka Sixbucks Coffee is Garbage, you must have money to burn.
I use Yuban,My Grandparents and my Parents always bought Yuban Coffee.
$7.99 for a 48oz can is far better than buying a 12oz. Package of Starbucks for $8.99 on sale @ Ralph's Grocery. Or spending $2.95 for a 12oz, cup of Sixbucks coffee.

I dunno. I like buying my beans from Starbucks. Take it home and grind it. I then place it in the fridge, whether there's any truth to this fact or not. It sure smells great along with maple bacon in the morning. Especially outside. WOW!!

Recently we have been using Maxwell house intense bold coffee. A nice strong flavor without the burnt taste that starbucks has.

I am taking the Bunn coffee maker the next trip because it keeps the water ready and I can make a silent pot of coffee while Honey sleeps in. No clanging and banging as I make it on the stove, or popping and hissing as it goes through a auto drip.

We like Mocha Java beans the best. Never had a burr grinder. Why is it so much better than a blade grinder ?

I drink Folgers Classic Roast from a Mr. Coffee drip coffeemaker. Its brown, hot, cheap and has caffeine. After drinking Navy Coffee made in a 40 gallon steam jacketed kettle, its an improvement. At least I don't have to keep my teeth clenched to filter out the grounds.

X3 on eight o'clock. I grind my own, brew one cup at a time in the Keurig.

As for brands there are so many good coffees these days...Honestly I usually grab the Dunkin Donuts brand coffee. I usually have some high quality beans in the cabinent as well, but for go to super market brand I guess Dunkin. I do like the 8 oclock, Starbucks, Seattles Best, Millstone's as well. I guess what Im saying is I like them all!

But do check into the Aeropress, it makes the best coffee at home.

I have an Aeropress and agree it makes a great cup of coffee but it is such a hassle that I seldom use it. I would suggest that anyone find and read the instructions before buying one.
