Looking for a blender for son in-law. He would use it for smoothie's and puts ice, frozen fruit. I would like to pay around $60 or under. I don't need it to be a food processor and don't need extra cups etc.. He had a cuineart (SP?) for nine years that just quit. Any suggests? Was looking at the Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher Multi-Function Blender 54220 700 watt. on amazon. $42.98.

Magic bullet! Does an excellent job, cheap, easy to store

We have been pleased with our Kitchen Aid. They are about $100 new but can be found occasionally for less.

I have a Magic Bullet in the RV and I use it often. Costco has it for about $44.

I'm leaning toward a Hamilton Beach. They have one that is 700 watts. Under $50. Perfect for a gift. Has great reviews. The way anything is made nowadays if it last 3 or more yrs. Great. Thanks everyone for your feed back. I like the Ninja reviews but its to tall. Limited on cabinet space.

I've had the same Hamilton Beach for close to 35 years (the base is avocado green if that gives a clue)...and about 15 of those my younger "party years" I dare say that 75% of it's use has been crushing ice for drinks. ;) and the other 25% for ice cream shakes for the kids or during tomato canning season. It's still running strong!

I'm sure those $100 plus blenders do a real fine job.......but, if your primary use is a morning smoothie.......take a look at this one......

Hamilton beach single serve

At less than $15.00 it's great deal and even available at Walmart!.......I use one for protein shakes and couldn't be happier.......It's made to drink your smoothie right from the blender cup

If you read the review link I posted, the Ninja only came in second to the Vitamix and at less than $100.

I have a vitamix and love it but the person asking for info wanted inexpensive and vitamix is not even close. Hubby asked its price but I wouldn't go there...just told him. "Remember all those tools you've bought over the years? Well this is mine, all mine!"

I love my Ninja. A cup of liquid, frozen berries and frozen banana chunks, or other fruit quickly become a tasty smoothie.
