I've had both the propane and the charcoal/woodburner, and I much prefer the latter. Something about the smoke wafting through the air while I'm "working" at cooking is wonderful to me. I also have a ready supply of wild cherry, as well as any other chunks I might buy. Certainly a fun, and tasty, hobby, no matter how you do it!
