Cost of beef
I'm sure this will vary with the news source, but I heard to expect a 45% increase in the cost of beef in US. Due to drought conditions. Coffee is going way up, too.

Stew's Naked • No Antibiotics • No Added HormonesShoulder Lamb Chops - $3.99 lb. SAVE $2 lb.
Stew's Amish CountryBoneless Chicken Breast - $1.99 lb. SAVE $1.50 lb.
The whole beef strip has my attention but I'll call them first to see if the tenderloin is included in the cut. Even if it isn't it'll still be a bargain for my sight. For the amount of beef we eat in a year a full strip should last all 12 months.
What USDA Grade are these cuts? Choice? Select?
There is a pretty fair discount for Select, over the better Choice. If those are Choice cuts, those are pretty darn good prices.
Make sure any grade you look at, is an official USDA grade, NOT what some retailer says it is. It will be stamped on each package. If it does not say USDA -------, then it is NOT a USDA grade.

I was wondering what was going on, I turned vegan a couple years ago and so never noticed the price of beef until my brother asked me to pick up some ground beef for him. I was shocked. TVP for me.

Super Dave and others who buy relatively large amounts of meat:
You might check out restaurant supply houses. We have a local one here in Boise and I seem to remember pork shoulders for about $1.50/lb or so. You had to buy a vacuum sealed bag of 2 (about 15 - 20 lbs). The last time I bought them, I smoked one and froze the other. I'm waiting for it to warm up a little more before I get a couple more for smoking.
