Well I stand somewhat corrected on semantics I believe. This is the in depth response response I received from Butterball so it will be up to the individual to decide. I think I will try the apple juice brine anyway.
"The breast meat of Butterball Frozen Turkeys, including Butterball Frozen Stuffed Turkey, is deep basted with a patented recipe of ingredients to yield a more uniformly juicy and tender turkey and enhance the natural flavor of the breast meat. During the specially designed process, the patented recipe of ingredients (water, salt, spices - no "Big 8" allergenic ingredients in the spices - and natural flavor) is inserted through the skin into the underlying breast meat. Each turkey is individually weighed to determine 8% of weight for product consistency. The amount of basting solution is regulated by the USDA. The ingredients included in Butterball's patented recipe are specified on the labels of all Butterball Frozen Turkeys.
Fresh Butterball Turkeys are all natural, minimally processed and deep basted with a 4% solution of water, salt and spices to add extra juiciness and flavor to the breast meat (no artificial preservatives or flavorings and no "Big 8" allergenic ingredients). Each turkey is weighed for consistency and the amount of basting ingredients is regulated by the USDA. The ingredients included in Butterball's patented recipe are specified on the labels of all Butterball Fresh Turkeys"
