Our one fig tree has got a bumper crop of large very sweet figs and I have cooked down about ten quarts in simple sugar syrup and frozen them for use latter in the year. If I don't pick them the birds...

If you really enjoy the taste of figs, you could always dry them, then make Cuccidati (Italian Fig Cookies) and enjoy them all year long. These are the best cookies in the world! Of course I was introduced to them as a baby and still go to Auntie's for a taste of heaven. Some day I will have to pry the recipe from Auntie so that I do not lose this taste from the Old Country.
