NYC,
Not sure I follow as to the location of a plate being welded? Or "pinpoint feet"?
Once in reality I have considered staking the feet if needed. Only time will tell. We are heading out Fri for a short w/e trip, but not sure I will test it as it sounds like we are planning on stopping on the way for dinner. Then hitting the river for a tube trip Sat morning at 10. A "4hr" trip that I bet takes us 5-6hrs! Lol Then just burgers after the river.
But next week we will be taking our big trip of the year, leaving Wed morning- Mon, where it will get tested. Still deciding on a hook set up. May drill and bolt some hook bolts to it. Or I half considered using hooks from a rubber bungee and attaching them with black paracord. That way I can adjust the hooks as needed until the best location is found.
The "stand" wasn't hard at all. Just had Home Depot cut and thread the pipe to the lengths I wanted, and then assembled it. I tightened the legs and cross pipe with pipe wrenches, posts are just screwed in hand tight when set up.
OK I thought more about adding a flat plate to the bottom and it no longer makes the least bit of sense ( what if the ground is un-level springs to mind;). By "pinpoint feet" I meant tipped feet much like what is used on the bottom of awning poles. I'm sure there is a better word/term just can't think it up right now.
Have fun out there and take some in the field pics for us if you find the time.
