I think it also depends on the type of "camping" you are doing and where you are "camping". Most of our camping is in resorts or tourist areas. We do hit a state park or govt park every now and then.
If in the tourist areas or resorts. We do like I said, we go out to eat and stop by a grocery store while there and pick up stuff to make. We don't really plan meals for days of the week at home as we will change our minds and not want something one day. We do buy stuff for meals, but we just don't plan them out by the day of the week. And if we even come close to it, we don't stick with it. If in a tourist area like the beach, we will get some fresh shrimp and do things like a
shrimp boil or some
super easy shrimp tacos.
If at a state park or govt park, we are more apt to do
foil packets or things in
pie irons. We've done breakfast sandwiches, pizza pockets and little dessert pies in them. We do have a dutch oven and have done several things in it. Mainly dump cakes, banana bread and I did
Byron's Baked Chicken and Rice one time that was excellent. I'm not just getting back into the dutch oven thing and cast iron cooking in general. My wife and daughter got me a tripod for my birthday that I haven't used yet.
