Can one cook a whole chicken in a dutch oven on a cooktop? How would you do it?
I'm not really up to building a campfire and using a traditional dutch oven unless it's the absolute only way.

That's a great pot for a whole chicken or parts. Cooks evenly and does well on a low flame after the initial skin browning. Here's a recipe that makes a wondrous bird. If the idea of using cinnamon is off-putting to you in a savoury dish just don't add it. It'll still taste good:
