Costco canned roast beef?

Don't get too excited.
Once I was moving a boat I bought from Wisconsin to New York City via the Erie Canal.
The refrigerator went so we were on dry and canned goods for a week at least. It started to wear on me.
We stopped in some tiny rural town in Michigan and I was craving a normal home cooked meal. They had this thing in a can. It was a chicken! A Sweet Sue turkey in a can.
The picture was beautiful! An amazing chicken dinner in a can!! All I had to do was heat it up! This thing looked like grandma's best turkey dinner on the label. Mouth watering just looking at it.
I saved it for a special occasion when we got to some point of the journey.
I opened the can and this grayish "pigeon" carcass drops out... Ok. So it's like a wonderful quail or pheasant meal. No prob!
After heating it I served it with potatoes, vegetables, etc. The thing was God AWFUL. Tasted incredibly bad.
Moral of the story is... It's better than an MRE if you are looking for survive off the grid with no refrigerator, but any canned meat with be nasty. Sodium is off the charts too if you're sensitive to that at all.
