- StimExplorerI grow beets in my garden.
I peel and slice them to cook them.
I found the BEST slicer for them is a Salad Shooter that I bought at thrift store for $6. !
I have an expensive OSTER Machine but the Shooter does much better.
When the Shooters were advertised on TV every year I thought they were a joke but now I would not be without it.
Found another one cheap and sent it to my sister and she loves it also. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIILove beets.......one of my favorites.
In a salad
Thinly sliced and mixed with Mayo
By themselves as a side dish
Good for checking how your digestive system is functioning also. - dons2346Explorer

Might be so but when you look down and see .............I'll bet the blood pressure rises a bit - craftyfoxExplorerOn the other hand, pickled beets are very good for lowering your blood pressure and also very good for your liver.
- Costco sells some really awesome beet pickles. I've been known to eat more than my fair share, The jar is huge!
First time it was a moment of apprehension the next morning, but now it's just one of those " Oh yeah, beets last night" moments...
