Did you have red beets for dinner last night......?

I grow beets in my garden.
I peel and slice them to cook them.
I found the BEST slicer for them is a Salad Shooter that I bought at thrift store for $6. !
I have an expensive OSTER Machine but the Shooter does much better.
When the Shooters were advertised on TV every year I thought they were a joke but now I would not be without it.
Found another one cheap and sent it to my sister and she loves it also.

Love beets.......one of my favorites.
In a salad
Thinly sliced and mixed with Mayo
By themselves as a side dish

Good for checking how your digestive system is functioning also.

Costco sells some really awesome beet pickles. I've been known to eat more than my fair share, The jar is huge!

First time it was a moment of apprehension the next morning, but now it's just one of those " Oh yeah, beets last night" moments...
