who else does this. been a tradition in my family as long as I can remember. apparently there's instructions online

we do ours a bit thinker and cook long and use pie filling
we also find sticks and widdle the bark down instead of using a dowel. wood broom handles work at camp driveway. but are not allowed when real camping in my books.
