Dutch Oven Cooking for Two!

We have a 12" and just recently bought a 10" deep and just for the two of us it works great. A bit large for baking purposes, but on a restricted diet, a lot of bread and/or baked isn't the best any way. Check out what "Deep" versions are available because they allow you to fit in a chicken or a decent size roast.

We use this 8" Lodge dutch oven for the two of us.

This has been our experience which might differ from others. We got a smaller D/O because of usually just 2 of us. Thought we would just reduce the recipe to size smaller size. Didn't turn out like that. Can't say if it was my cooking or what. But most recipes we find or like or try out are for 12 inch size. So that is our latest size for last 3 years. Seems to work better, at least for us. Any extra usually become leftovers.

Lodge gloves $20.00 vs Harbor freight welding gloves $9.00 and works better IMO. Also Temp gun works for us. When buying a Dutch oven think Lodge! I have sold many different Dutch ovens while in retail sales and nothing beats Lodge.

Yes they make dutch ovens of all sizes. We also have a smaller one and bought the starter kit from Cabellas. It was only like $89. It works fine and I'm confident we will be upgrading next season.
