We have an all electric coach now so I ditched the table top gas grill I had as I don't want to haul around a propane tank. I bought a MECO Aussie electric grill and had good luck with it until the last trip when after a couple days, it tripped the GFI. I tried other outlets with the same results. While I liked the grill, it only lasted a bit over a year which is unacceptable. So now, I'm looking for a quality electric table top grill. Any suggestions.

If you are going to go electric (which really isn't true grilling), we have a Cuisinart Panini Press Grill. Makes great Panini sandwiches, grills any meat (like a George Foreman Grill), flip over the plates for pancakes, etc.Plates remove for easier cleaning.Cuisinart is only one of them..lots are available. Check Costco.Example:

I bought a 16 inch sq Uniflame electric grill at walmart very reasonably, it is not a griddle, it is a grill, that stands on a base that I can remove it from and move it inside in the winter. just used it for lunch.bumpy

When not outdoors grilling with propane or on a fire we use the NuWave Oven Pro inside. Have cooked, besides the whole chicken in photos, steaks, chops, bacon...the list goes on.Does a great job and recommend highly as another source.

Hi,I use a George Foreman type grill.Did you try the existing grill on a different outlet? I.e. perhaps the GFI has failed?

Rival used to make an electric grill. You can still find them on EBAY. I carry one in the camper and use it when it is raining. I have an electric grill built into my cooktop, so I don't use the larger one that I have in the house anymore. I put it away to eventually put in the camper if that one quits working.

The question was about "electric grills", not griddles, or ovens, etc. Anyone know of any other electric grills to recommend?

Not special, but they don't work with aluminum pots and pans. They have to be made of something that a magnet will stick to. A good ol' iron skillet works.

NuWave oven is awesome. I got one for Christmas and love it. I will take it camping plus to my beach house rental this summer. I use it more than I thought I would! We had brats on it the other night and love it.

X-2 on Nuwave oven. I have two. One stays in the RV. Does not make the RV get hot. Cooks great.

Weber Q1400 electric grill is an excellent choice. It is the electric equivalent of the Weber Q series gas grills that are so popular with RVers and enjoy a very good reputation.

I too have gone thru 2 'high quality' electric grills. Mecco and Q200 grills. ($250+) Replaced the element 3 times on the Mecco within 2 years and twice on the Q200. That is what is tripping the ckt breaker. Even cleaning it more often did not prevent element short outs...love my electric grills. Years ago I had a cheapo from WalMart ($30) and it lasted years...threw it out only cuz it was ugly...can't find them anymore...
