Of course if you don't want to cook with hot greese then just drop them on the large flat grill surface and cook'em with that... I have a whole series of different grill tops with my Coleman Roadtrip...
What were you frying? Boneless chicken or may be wings? Actually you CAN pan or shallow fry in a pot with less depth but I dinna think that was what the OP was talking of. Smart you to expand the meaning and think past the obvious:).
