fried turkey my way

I won best of show in manatee co. fla. with this recipe.

1 fresh turkey
2 peanut oil
use giblets and spices to make a broth
chilli powder
garlic salt
cumin
paprika
salt pepper
celery
onion
carrots
jalapenos to taste
inject into bird and let set overnight. next morning mix tony chackeryscajun spice with mayonnaise and coat bird fry at 325--350% for3.5 min. per pound then wrap in brown paperbag and newspaper place incooler for 3-4 hours then serve

  • the mayo sears the skin as soon as it goe,s in the oil makes a nice crisp skin to eat try it you will like it linda
  • OK then, I'll take your word for it. Used to do a lot of deep fried turkeys both camping and at home. They were always a big hit.
  • We've injected teriyaki in many Turkeys and had no issues deep frying-I'm pretty sure the bird pretty much gets sealed up as soon as it hits the hot oil and the marinade just combines with the bird's juices-Buffalo sauce is GREAT too.

    This stuff is awesome...eatin is sucha big part of campin!

    Linda, no alcohol or rocket fuel in the broth. LOL!
