Sounds like you've decided to just use the "working" part of the grill and what you need is a way to raise it high enough so you're safely above whatever table/base you are going to put it on. What about a metal folding table large enough to give you a base. Many of these are available and some are foldable as well. Just a thought.

And yes you have it right I will remove the "wing" tables on each side and the entire bottom assy which is basically the legs and stand/wheels.
I already have the Hitch with the "basket" in which will also go my generator securely bolted down inside a weatherproof container. There is room for both.
I am intrigued by the suggestion of another poster to just not modify it and keep it whole. Tying it down is not an issue for me. I can do that. I was just trying to save a bit of weight.
The small grills will just not work for me and my preferences of grilling. I need the bigger cooking area and the heat I can get from 4 big burners. But thanks to all those that suggested I go another direction...I know you meant well.
