I carried a Weber Smok'n Joe kettle charcoal grill while we FTd
14" grill.
Adequate for 4 steaks etc.
Buddy of mine (sheetmetal guy) made me a 8" high insert that slipped onto bottom grill and then top sat on it......elevated the lid. Used it to smoke a turkey, chickens and ribs in a rack (ribs stood up vs laying flat)
Worked pretty good for traveling
Fill up with charcoal 1st night.....cook....put lid on/close it up
Use again ----add more briquets etc until last night.
Then leave lid off and let briquets burn up. Dump cold ash in trash.
Lid on.....bungee cord and place in side compartment.
Simple/easy..no mess and GREAT Charcoal Flavor
